Facilities Assistant (Evenings & Weekends) (Part Time)

£13.26–£14.82 per hour
Staveley Town Council is looking to recruit a reliable and enthusiastic Facilities Assistant to join our growing facilities team.
This role is primarily based at the Speedwell Rooms, helping prepare the building for a wide variety of community activities, meetings and private functions.
You’ll be the person who makes sure everything is ready before customers arrive and that the building is safely secured afterwards.
No two shifts are ever the same.
The role includes:
- Opening and locking the Speedwell Rooms
- Setting out tables, chairs and equipment for bookings
- Preparing rooms for meetings and events
- Carrying out security checks
- Welcoming hirers where required
- Minor maintenance and repairs
- Supporting Council events throughout the year
- Providing holiday and sickness cover across the Council’s facilities
- Working alongside our friendly Facilities Team across Staveley Hall, The Stables and other Council sites when required.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Practical and hands-on
- Happy working independently
- Customer focused
- Flexible and willing to work evenings and weekends
- Able to undertake light manual work including moving tables and chairs
- Capable of carrying out basic maintenance tasks.
Experience in caretaking, facilities management or maintenance would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.
